SHAUN Reid has hailed the Warrington Town fans who made the trip to Gateshead in the FA Cup on Sunday.
More than 850 supporters made the journey to the north east, while many others watched on BT Sport as Town’s historic run came to an end.
But Reid was full of admiration for the travelling Yellows fans, who could be heard throughout the 90 minutes.
“It takes your breath away and I’d like to say a big thank you to all of them,” he said.
“We’ve put smiles on a lot of people’s faces. It doesn’t feel like that right now, but hey, we’ll bounce back.
“Can I sum it up? Football is an amazing sport, it brings people together. It gives you belief and gives you something to aim for.
“As a football manager you just want to improve people, I think I’ve improved Warrington Town and I will continue to do that.”
