Appleton Tigers smashed the Cheshire Women’s League T20 Cup record for shortest ever match when they crushed Hope Hawks in the quarter finals.

Annie Rashid took three wickets without conceding a run as Appleton ripped through Hope’s reduced order for just two runs, Jen Regan ending the innings with the first ball of the fifth over.

Lauren O’Reilly hit the winning runs off the second ball to secure Appleton’s progress to the last four.

Three Appleton regulars helped Cheshire to a resounding 117-runs victory over Durham in Division Two of the Liverpool Victoria Women’s County Championship.

Nathalie Long, 3 for 22, Natalie Lyons, 2 for 7, and Raffa Rodighierro were on target as Cheshire bowled out the visitors for 70 after scoring 187 for 8.
