APPLETON'S under 15s girls' team secured the Cheshire Girls' League title after a play-offs final win over Stockport Georgians this weekend.
Charlotte Cross, 14, and Katherine Jackson, 27 retired, got Appleton off to a great start, while 16 more from Poppy Beardsell helped to post a challenging total of 91 for 4 off 16 overs.
Wickets from Molly White and Kaytlin Watterson restricted Stockport Georgians to 79 for 3 in response.
Six of the eight players also represented the women’s team this year and made significant contributions to help the Tigers win the Division One title.
