WARRINGTON will join Grappenhall in Division One after victory at third-placed Mobberley secured them promotion.

It proved a comfortable 131-run success on Saturday for the visitors, who look set to finish runners up in Division Two, while neighbours Grappenhall drop down from the top flight.

Put in to bat, Warrington were indebted to the early innings of Adam Green, 82.

When they were set for a moderate total, Richard Heaney, 27, and Nathan Green, 36, gave the innings a late boost to give Warrington an impressive total of 222 for 8.

Warrington were in no mood to lose control of this game with opening bowlers Ashley Scholes, 3 for 16, and Nathan Green, 2 for 30, setting the trend.

Brad McIntosh, 3 for 2, James Rudd, 1 for 10, and Chia Gadipalli, 1 for 25, had the home side despatched for 91 all out in 34 overs.

Warrington seconds lost by five wickets to Timperley.

They had no answer to the accurate bowling of the visitors.

With Tim Rothwell, 57, holding up one end and only James Sharrock, 17, and Simon Swain, 14, making double figures the home side closed their innings on 128 for 9.

Timperley set out their stall as they paced their batting well. Brad Roden, 2 for 20, and Isaac Webster, 1 for 15, took early wickets before Rishav Manta, 1 for 27, and Dave Lee, 1 for 8, chipped in as Timperley passed the total in 30 overs.

Warrington thirds beat Oxton by 66 runs.

Dom Hastings, 38, Vijay Doraisamy, 70, and Harry Kellett, 82no, dominated proceedings enabling Warrington to close their innings on 244 for 5.

The introduction of slow bowlers Tom Corroboy, 5 for 28, and Alan Hitchmough, 5 for 32, proved to be the winning move.

The fourths lost by four wickets to Urmston.

Arshan Dadrewalla, 55, and James Shaw, 18, were the only batsmen to have made double figures as they fell for 139.

The visitors had a solid start against Warrington’s opening attack Mans Naseem 3-25 and spin bowlers Jack Street, 1 for 17, and Nathan Jeffery, 1 for 26, had some scant reward as Urmston passed the Warrington total with five overs spare.
