SUNDAY’S Mersey Series saw Derek Bibby put a mixed perch and roach catch on the scales for 10lbs 7ozs 0drs and a decisive win.

He fished pole and maggot at 13-metres on peg 62.

Our Monday Disabled and Over 60s match was again fished on the Mersey and saw on-fire Derek Bibby notch up yet another win.

He annihilated any opposition with an all-bream catch of 25-7-0 taken on a groundbait feeder and maggot. The match next week is back on the Bridgewater Canal, so massive weights are unlikely but it is just as competitive.

If you are visiting our Ribble Fishery and wish to park at Trough House Farm, please note that you must have a WAA car park sticker plainly displayed on your vehicle and also be prepared to produce your EA and WAA licences to the owner, a fellow member.

If you cannot comply you will not be allowed to use the car park.

This has come about, as usual, by the actions of a few people spoiling it for decent members and among other things bringing non-members to the fishery.

The Offa’s Dyke management team have really put an immense amount of work into this recently-acquired fishery and both pools are opened to members from yesterday, Wednesday.

It can be found on Llanfynydd Road, Mold, CH7 4LQ.

Because of the close proximity to a dwelling please keep noise to a minimum and respect residents.

The times are restricted to 7.30am to one hour after sunset and parking is only allowed on the car park by pool one.

No keepnets or barbed hooks.

We appreciate any catch reports as we are assessing current stocks, which are unknown.

I have spotted good numbers of fish and our chairman has fished Pool two with pole and pellet and caught some decent roach and half a dozen carp around the 6lbs mark.

Many thanks to the members who turned out to the working party at Grey Mist Mere.

Keep sending your catch reports to 01928 716238 or frank@warrington-anglers.org.uk.

HQ 52, Parker Street is open as usual between 7pm and 9pm on Friday, for subscriptions, new memberships/night permits, or any queries.
