Crosfields 36 Leigh East 6
A STUNNING first-half display paved the way for Crosfields to earn an ultimately convincing victory at Hood Lane.
Winger Nathan Taylor blew opponents Leigh East away with a hat-trick inside the first 22 minutes, with the last of them being a stunning, length-of-the-field effort.
Jordan Williams and skipper Jack Reid added their names to the scoresheet to give Ian Boden’s side a commanding 26-0 lead at the break.
Despite having a man sent to the sin bin early in the second half, East got the first score after the break and enjoyed a spell of pressure.
However, Soap repelled it and finished the game off with tries from young front-row duo Tom Millington and Tom Brown.
They will now look for their first away win of 2018 at West Bowling on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
Crosfields: John Whittaker; Dan Reid, Matt Lomax, Kane Ditchfield, Nathan Taylor; Joe Clarke, Jack Reid; Phil Brazendale, Hayden James, Tom Brown, Jordan Williams, Mitchell McJay, Tom Millington. Subs: Bailey Hartley, Matt Barber, Dave Boden, Ian Boden.
