BURTONWOOD Bridge made the short trip back from Wigan with two NWML Division Three points on Saturday.

A superb first-half display saw them see off Wigan Bulldogs, with the impressive Will Weir powering through for the opening try.

Debutant winger Tom Robinson got himself on the scoresheet shortly afterwards before some superb work by Rikki St Pier and Scott Birchwood put towering forward James Innes over.

Tom Unsworth and Craig Holcroft also scored for Burtonwood, who held on for the points despite second-half comeback from the hosts, with Greg Peters kicking four conversions.

After a break for the Easter weekend, Bridge welcome Chester Gladiators to Fir Tree Lane on Saturday, April 7.
