Orrell St James 48 Latchford Albion 12
A CLOSE first half was followed by a one-sided second period as Latchford were beaten by title-chasing Orrell St James.
Lee Smith’s side were well in the game at half time despite trailing 18-12, but 30 unanswered Orrell points after the break sealed their fate.
The sides swapped scores early on, with Chris Griffiths dummying his way over for a try he converted himself after the hosts had taken the lead.
Orrell took advantage of a spell of pressure with two converted tries, but Griffiths picked up a loose ball for his second of the afternoon to keep Albion in touch before the hosts’ second-half barrage.
