Burtonwood Bridge 58 Chester Gladiators 14

UNBEATEN Burtonwood Bridge stayed top of North West Mens’ League Division Three by running 11 tries past Chester Gladiators.

Mikey Ryder crossed four times at Fir Tree Lane, with Craig Holcroft also racking up a hat-trick of tries.

Ryan Farnan, Ross Young and Will Weir also crossed before half time in a dominant Bridge display, with Jack Graham scoring late in the second half.

Full-back Greg Peters converted seven of the tries to ensure delight for head coach Lee Cunningham.

“It’s hard not to be impressed by some of the standard of play and the attitude shown,” Cunningham said.

“The desire shown to be on the end of the next pass for each other, and keeping the play alive, was a real stand-out for me.”

“The ability for us to be ruthless in our efficiency must remain a target for us to keep chasing, making every effort count.”

Bridge aim to maintain their form on Saturday when they make the short trip to face Wigan Bulldogs, kick off 2.30pm.
