Woolston Rovers 28 Eastmoor Dragons 18.

ROVERS continued their good recent form as they kept up the pressure on league leaders Crosfields by seeing off Eastmoor.

The Dragons, who ended Soap’s unbeaten league run last time out, came to Monk Sports Club full of confidence but were quickly on the back foot when Chris Twigg opened the scoring for Rovers.

Shaun Upson crossed to equalise for the visitors but Rovers retook the lead on the half-hour when a flowing move was finished off by Wil Maudsley in the left corner.

Justin Becker then sped over from Theo Holt’s long ball to give the hosts and 18-6 lead at the break.

Twigg got his second just after the interval to stretch the advantage before Lewis Hoarty finished off a Cameron Davies break to give John Fieldhouse’s side a seemingly unassailable 28-6 lead.

However, Eastmoor responded as Upson crossed for his second before Lewis Kear burrowed over to reduce the gap to 10 points, but Rovers held on to secure a crucial win.
