LATCHFORD Albion’s pre-season continued on Saturday with a testing 20-0 defeat against Premier Division opposition Haydock.
Despite the scoreline, coach Lee Smith was still upbeat about his side’s performance, he said: “I purposely chose to play an established Premier Division side as it really tests our squad and shows the level I am expecting my players to constantly achieve.
“The scoreline had a flattering look to it with two tries in the last 15 minutes when a couple of key injuries took their toll, but we held our own against a very well organised side which bodes well for the season and our boys came away with a lot of positives from the game.”
Best for Albion were Cameron Davies, Drew Bradley and Ross Atkinson.
