WOOLSTON Rovers Wizards under 15s rugby league team have won the North West Counties Development Cup.

In an exciting finale to a close encounter with Hindley, the Wizards secured a golden-point victory after the game had finished all square.

After a try each from Matt Heritage and Will Ridge, Hindley levelled the tie and it went to an additional playing period in which the next team to score would be crowned winners.

Kieran Jones stopped a Hindley drop-goal attempt and Woolston went straight down the pitch and won with a drop goal from Jake Eccles.

PLAYER of the match Oliver Garmston crossed for two tries as the Sharks beat the Royals. Alfie Rattigan also added a brace, with other scores came from top tackler Lewis Owens, Freddie Ball, Toby McGucken and Oscar Rattigan, who shared the coach's award with brother Alfie.

TWO tries each from top tackler Thomas Ashurst and Charlie Yeomans set the platform for an impressive Sharks display. Player of the match Ciaran Card was rewarded for his all round effort with a try, as was coach's award winner Jamie Shallcross. Charlie Robinson, Fin Yeomans and Logan Trownson crossed for the other scores in a strong team display.

Crosfields Vipers u8 8 Bank Quay Bulls u8 16

A GREAT team effort and win from Bank Quay Bulls at Crosfields. Their tries came from Charlie Walker, Joe Cullen, Freddie Brown and Harvey Newton. That's eight straight wins now for the Bulls.
