WOOLSTON Rovers travel to Bradford on Saturday to take on newcomers Wibsey Warriors in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three.

Rovers have taken three points from their previous two games, with a 41-12 win over Eastmoor Dragons on Saturday.

A double from Christian Taylor, followed by tries for Glynn Roberts, Matt Clarke, Anthony Clayton, Paul Berry and Tom Woodward sealed Rover's win.

Woolston Head Coach John Fieldhouse said: “I was really pleased with the win; we made it difficult for ourselves in the first half but after the break we really did step up a gear.

"We scored some great tries and it looks as though the lads are really starting to buy into the structures I have put in place.

"Due to a few players being unavailable I took the opportunity to select Ethan Jude and Chris Twigg from our Under 18s and I was delighted with their contribution.”

Fieldhouse wants his side to take another two points this weekend.

He added: “We have a massive fixture at Wibsey this week that we are desperate to take the two points from.

"We know that it will be a difficult game, as all trips to Bradford are, but if we can play to our full ability then we will have a great chance.

"I should have a few players back available so that will give me a nice selection headache.”

The coach leaves Monks Sports Club, Hillock Lane, Woolston at 11.30am. Any supporters wishing to travel please contact Nikki on 07889 170895 to secure your place.

Rovers A host Leyland Warriors looking for a third successive win.

They have had back-to-back victories over the past two weeks and if they can get a win on Saturday they will overtake Leyland and move into the top half.

Coach Mark Robinson said after the Widnes Tigers game: “It was a really good all-round team performance although we made some silly mistakes and gave away needless penalties that kept them in the game but the most important thing is that we got the win and we can now look forward to a home game on Saturday against Leyland.

"They have had a similar start to the season as we have but hopefully we can maintain the momentum we have built up over the past two weeks and get another win under our belts.”
