GOLDEN Lion have won Grappenhall Darts League's Rook Shield nine-a-side competition for the sixth time.

Lion defeated Fleece 5-4 in the final thanks to Steve Tatlock's last-leg win, with Dave Williams also securing victory in 16 darts.

Lion had found themselves 2-0 down in their semi final against Rams Head but fought back to win 7-2.

Bulls Head won the Lafferty Shield for the fifth time after edging out Golden Lion 4-3 in the final.

Steve Brotherston won his game in nine darts, while Norm Jackson won in 12 in the decisive last leg for Bull, who beat Fleece 6-1 in the quarter finals and GTL A 4-2 in the semis.

Bull also triumphed in a champions versus rest of the league match, winning 12-9. Gary Sherlock won in 16 for Bull, while Chris Swindells had a 13-darter for rest of the league.
