HAZEL Musgrove will be presenting certificates and badges to Warrington Swimming and Water Polo Club’s future prospects this weekend.

Youngsters in the minis and junior sections are being rewarded for their progress at various stages of the national teaching plan.

The water polo section, based at Sankey Forum, are enjoying growing success.

Warrington won the Liverpool and District Water Polo Tournament at under 18s level at Birkenhead’s Europa Pool on Sunday.

Two of their under 17s players, Tom Hadley and James Williams, have been selected to play for the North West team after impressing in trials.

They will be involved in the Inter Regional competition which takes place at Walsall on July 14 and 15.

Tom and James, who has been named vice-captain, have played and trained with the club since they were 12 years old.

Their coach Chris Byrne said: “Their selection is richly deserved. Both boys have worked hard to make the team against stiff opposition from some of the top players in the country and they are a credit to our club and a pleasure to coach.”
