WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s in-form Harriet Knowles-Jones finished first in the junior girls’ race at the English Schools Cross Country Cup Final at Alnwick Castle.
She led her Altrincham Loreto School team to third place with 7mins 4secs.
Clubmate Amy Renton finished 10th for Helsby High School in 8mins 4secs, while clubmates Kate Merrill and Matt Hulse were 21st and 49th respectively with 10mins 32secs and 15mins 7secs in their races.
Paul Dodsworth was the first Warrington Athletics Club runner to finish the Wilmslow Half Marathon on Sunday.
He clocked 77mins 51secs as the ninth over 40s runner, while Steve Watmough was 104th overall and the ninth over 45 in 80mins 54secs.
Former club runner Amy Talbot continues to do well since moving to America.
She has set two more personal bests – nearly two seconds off as she finished seventh in the 800m in 2mins 14.43secs in the Louisiana Classic, Lafayette, and more than two seconds off her 1,500m best when finishing second in 4mins 38.38secs in the Victor Lopez Classic.
