WARRINGTON Wolves had plenty to celebrate as they watched England Academy romp to their first series win over Australia since 2004 with a 34-22 win at Leigh Sports Village on Friday.
England's young guns romped to a 2-0 series success, led by a man-of-the-match performance from Wolves centre Rhys Evans.
Wolves had four academy players taking part, with Rhys' twin brother Ben also earning plaudits for a well-taken try and Gareth O'Brien kicking five goals as he guided England around the pitch from half back.
With the last member of the quartet, James Laithwaite, providing a dominant display in the England pack and earning the man-of-the-match award in the first win, it has been a successful series for the Wolves representatives.
Rhys Evans’ majestic 60-metre dash from dummy half saw him break several tackles before rounding the full back to score the winning try on Friday.
