WARRINGTON Rowing Club’s Holly McMullen completed a phenominal achievement at the British Indoor Rowing Championships on Saturday.
The 15-year-old became Britain's Indoor Rowing champion in the under 15s category to complete a unique hat-trick of British titles in the under 13s, under 14s and under 15s age groups.
Holly held off ferocious competition, including ninth-placed clubmate Claudia Wright, to win by one minute in the five-minute time trial.
Warrington chairman Richard Sinnott said: “Holly continues to demonstrate her unbelievable athletic ability to improve her performance at every major test. She is a marvellous role model for all our young athletes.”
She narrowly missed out on another medal, finishing fourth out of 13 with the 16-year-olds’ crew alongside Beth Laidlaw, Annie Rogers and Claudia Wright.
But there were other medals for Warrington, with Rachel Ozsanlav-Harris winning gold and Mathilde Tavernier taking silver in the 12-year-olds’ individual event.
Gael Tavernier gained silver medal in the lightweight women’s aged 35 to 39 contest.
