WARRINGTON Town are hopeful that Everton could have a couple of star names on show when they visit Cantilever Park for a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Premiership club face Town this weekend after using Cantilever Park for training purposes ahead of a European tie last season.
It is an exciting prospect for the Yellows and they hope strong opposition will tempt fans to go along and watch.
Nick Armitage, who is Town's joint boss alongside Glenn Walker, said: "We've heard that they might be bringing quite a decent side with a couple of first-team players so hopefully people will want to come down and see them.
"It will be fantastic for our players to play against them too."
Town are expected to take a look at their first-choice starting line-up against Everton, with only two friendlies remaining ahead of the big kick-off on August 19.
Town travel to Knutsford on Monday before a visit to north Wales to face Buckley Town on August 12.
The Yellows' home friendlies against Prescot Cables on Tuesday and Marine on August 12 have been cancelled to protect the Cantilever Park pitch.
Armitage says he took more positives than negatives out of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Mossley, which included a goal from Rob Hanley.
The striker also scored as Town drew 2-2 at North West Counties League Division Two side Ashton Town on Thursday, with Graeme Mitchell the other goalscorer.
