Warrington Town 2 Ossett Albion 1
WARRINGTON Town continued their fine run of form and gained maximum points for the third time in eight days against a struggling Ossett Albion side.
They will look to make it four wins from four when they travel to Skelmersdale United on Saturday, who sit fourth in the league.
Town were ahead with the first chance of the game, captain Mike Tomlinson getting on the right end of a corner to head home off the underside of the bar.
Town saw influential captain and goalscorer Tomlinson carried off with suspected ruptured cruciate ligament after a poor challenge by Kelsey, which went unpunished.
The visitors had a goal ruled out before half time but Town stretched their advantage on 57 minutes when midfielder Mick O’Donnell volleyed home.
Ossett got back into the game in the 84th minute when Kelsey stepped up to narrowly beat Mottram from the penalty spot, but Town held strong.
Town: Mottram, Hadland (Roberts 78mins), Hardwick, Kennedy, Tomlinson (O'Donnell 34mins), Taylor, McCarthy, Grogan, Evans, Salmon, Gahgan.
