WOLVES capitalised on last year's Challenge Cup win and the appearance of Jedward to break the previous attendance record for a Harlequins game at the Halliwell Jones.
The club was able to attract more than 1000 extra fans when compared to the same fixture last year.
Wolves Chief Executive Andy Gatcliffe said: “The weekend’s home opener exceeded expectation and we would like to say a massive thank you to all fans who showed their support for the club.
"Your support grows year on year and we cannot thank you enough. We look forward to seeing all of our loyal fans as well as welcoming many ‘new faces/supporters’ throughout this new season.”
The good attendances will be sure to continue into the next home game, when Wolves face fierce local rivals Wigan Warriors on Febuary 20.
