WOLVES' Welsh twins Ben and Rhys Evans have been named in their national team's train-on squad for the forthcoming European Cup.

The Bridgend-born pair are still only 16 but get the nod in a youthful-looking Wales squad.

Prop forward Ben and centre Rhys have already represented both England and Wales at age group level.

Having moved to Warrington two years ago to enrol in Wolves' academy, they were required to play for England at under 15s level as they were living and attending school in the country.

But when they reached the age of 16, the former Great Sankey High School pupils quickly switched allegiance back to their home country and are now well on their way to becoming full internationals.

Joining them in the Wales squad are fellow Warrington players Rhys Williams and Rhys Griffiths.

Williams was close to gaining first-team recognition for Wolves this year when he was named in the 19-man squad for their Super League game at Wigan.

But despite missing out on the eventual 17-man squad for the 36-16 defeat, head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith admitted the 19-year-old winger was one of a group of young players at the club who would get their chance in the near future.
