WARRINGTON Wizards will be seeking a return to winning ways when they entertain current champions Featherstone Lions in the Rugby League Conference National at Wilderspool on Saturday at 3.30pm.

Wizards let an 18-point lead slip in the final 20 minutes at Huddersfield Underbank Rangers on Saturday to end up with a 28-28 draw.

They are eager not to drop any more points against a Featherstone side who had a 44-0 win at home to Dewsbury Celtic at the weekend.

Wizards joint player coaches Chris Mellor and Matt Wilson were disappointed to have lost the team’s 100 per cent away record.

“We were once again disrupted by injury but that is no excuse for only drawing the game,” said Mellor.

“We had plenty of talent on the field but mistakes cost us.

“If we can cut out them errors this weekend then we will be very difficult to beat.”

Wizards hope to have centre Danny Shaw, prop Simon McEvoy and second row Anthony Beckett available for Saturday’s game after injury.

Wingers Paul Wilson, Danny Hoyland and Dane Evans will also be hoping for a place in the 17.

Full back David Yii (ankle) and centre Matt Taylor (hamstring) will both be missing after picking up injuries at Huddersfield.
