STEVE Martin achieved a first-round knockout in an Amateur Kickboxing Association event in Milton Keynes.
Warrington Kickboxing Studio’s rising star Martin was awesome in his light heavyweight bout with hometown favourite Lee Wooding.
After a brief exchange of kicks in the opening seconds of round one, Martin pinned his opponent in the corner before swiftly finishing him off with a tremendous boxing combination that saw Wooding drop to the canvas and unable to beat the count.
Studio black belt Robert Lightburn also had a terrific middleweight win against Ashley Partridge, of Birmingham.
Lightburn needed the first round to adjust to his opponent’s awkward southpaw style but once he found his range the Warrington fighter dominated the bout with sharp boxing combinations, following up each time with either a knee-kick to the body or a spectacular high kick.
Forcing his opponent on to the back foot throughout rounds two and three, Lightburn recorded a thrilling points victory.
