WARRINGTON Rylands could find themselves as high as third in the Northern Premier League Premier Division table by tomorrow morning.

However, they could also find themselves out of the play-off places altogether – a surefire sign of the importance of their game this evening.

Blues, who are still searching for a new manager after Michael Clegg’s departure to Macclesfield last month, return to action after 10 days without a game by making the short trip to FC United of Manchester.

It is a game that was originally played on February 17 and reached the hour mark before an increasingly waterlogged Broadhurst Park pitch saw the match abandoned.

Senior players Dean Furman and Sam Wilson will be in caretaker charge once again having overseen the side for a 4-1 home defeat to Gainsborough Trinity last time out on February 24.

Their inactivity at the weekend allowed Macclesfield to jump above them by beating Marine, but Blues will jump above both of them with a win tonight and move level on points with second-placed Hyde United.

However, defeat could open the door for sixth-placed Lancaster City to snatch their play-off spot if they can beat Ashton United.

FC United have lost both of the games they have played since the abandoned fixture as part of a wider run of four defeats in five games that has seen them slide down to 17th in the table.

Tonight's game kicks off at 7.45pm.
