WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s under 11s boys swept the board in the Run Through Heaton Park Junior Race.

They took the first three places, with Sebastian Hughes first in 4mins 15secs, Tristan Tickle second in 4mins 20secs and Daniel Kelly third in 4mins 54secs.

Three Warrington AC competitors tackled the Run Jump Throw meeting in Sheffield.

In the 60 metres, master athlete Julie Hicken, now in the over 60s age group, finished fourth in her race in 9.58secs, only 0.23 seconds behind her best time set in the European Indoor Masters Championships in 2018.

She finished in second place in her 200m race in 32.77secs.

Rebecca Hardy placed fourth in her race with 8.18secs, missing her personal best time by just 1/100th of a second.

In the 3000m, master athlete Dave Watson, who is in the over 65s age group, finished fifth in his race with a new pb 11mins 23.77secs.

The Four Villages Half Marathon, incorporating the Northern Masters Championships for men, was held on Sunday at Helsby in very windy conditions with five Warrington Athletics Club members taking part.

James Horman, running under his first-claim club Liverpool Harriers, ran excellently to finish in fourth place in 1hr 10mins 34secs which placed him first over 40.

Next to finish was Daniel Lunt in 77th place (17th over 35) with 1:22.43 and followed by Dave Norman 243rd place in 1:32.23 placing sixth over 60 and second over 60 in the Northern Masters.

Louise Blizzard was next home in 256th place in 1hr 33mins 09secs, placing her 33rd woman and fifth over 45 woman.

Blizzard still holds the under 20s course record for the event at 1:20.20 from 1995.

Georgina Walker, running under first-claim club Lymm Runners, registered 407th overall with 1:39.44 placing her 72nd woman and 13th over 45 woman.
