A WARRINGTON youngster has set a club record while competing out of town.

Under 13 runner Euan Lawton smashed his personal best time when winning the 1200m at the Trafford AC Medal Meeting at Longford Stadium, clocking a Warrington Athletics Club record 3mins 44.99secs.

There were plenty more PB performances produced by Warrington AC competitors.

In the hurdles events, under 15 Olivia Crawford won her race in a PB 11.60secs and was followed by under 17 Lewis Shaw winning his race in 13.85secs.

Under 17 Leon Pritchard positioned fourth in his 100m race in a PB 13.11secs and in a mixed age 200m won in 27.62secs.

In the under 13s age group, Leah Poole came home fifth in her 75m race in a PB 11.15secs, finished third in her 150m race in 22.80secs and was 12th in her long jump with 3.42m.

Laila Betteley took second spot in her 150m race in a new PB 24.76secs.

In the 800m, under 13 Oliver Davenport registered fifth in his race in 2mins 31.03secs while under 15 Ellie Barker was seventh in her event in a PB 2mins 27.73secs.

Ellie later won her 200m race with a new electronic best time of 27.62secs and clinched third in her javelin event with a throw of 20.26m.

Alex Farrell finished fifth in the under 11s mixed 600m race in 2mins 01.50secs.

Under 15 Sebastian Hampson sealed fourth in his 1500m race in 4mins 51.73secs.

Meanwhile, in the Pie & Peas five-mile trail race at Moulton in very wet conditions, ack Wadsworth was the club's first to finish in 14th with 29mins 16secs while Steve Burthem was 49th in 34mins 53secs to finish fourth in the over 60s age group.

Warrington AC's master athlete Colin Bishop was 120th in the Sale Sizzler 5km road race at Wythenshawe Park with 18mins 13secs to finish second in the over 60s age group.

Bishop was out again for his second race in three days at the Halewood 5K.

He was 22nd in 18mins 23secs to win the over 60s age group.

Dave Gill finished 30th in 19mins 26secs to win the over 65s age group.
