WARRINGTON Athletics Club have been crowned divisional champions of the UK Youth Development League.

The club’s competitors racked up enough points to win the final meet at Longford Stadium in Trafford on Saturday and secure top spot in the table after the four rounds.

Winning performances on Saturday: Under 13s girls: Evie-May Williams (800m A 2:38.2), Annie Noone (800m B 2:49.8), Eva Hayes (1200m A 4:13.3), Grace Rashud (1200m B 4:20.9) and Leah Poole (long jump A 3.91m) Under 13s boys: Joshua Pryor (800m A 2:24.9), Euan Lawton (1200m A 3:51.4, shot putt B 3.92m, javelin B 16.66m), Eddie Walker (800m B 2:44.4), Louis Green (high jump A 1.39m) and Ruben Evans-Guillen (shot putt A 6.07m/javelin A 26.17m).

Under 15s girls: Ellie Barker (300m A 44.4, 200m B 27.4), Sarah Ashcroft (800m A 2:32.0), Cara Gregory (800m B 2:39.4), Sinead Gregory (1500m A 5:33.8), Sophie Parkinson (1500m B 5:40.3), Abigail Adelani (discus A 14.80m) and Lore Omotosho (discus B 4.57m, hammer B 14.79m, javelin B 7.52m).

Under 15s boys: Fraser Savage (200m A 24.7, high jump A 1.70m), Thomas Darbyshire (discus A 16.69m, javelin A 22.67m), Alistair Robson (shot putt A 6.03m), Elliot Taylor (shot putt B 3.66m).

Master athlete Louise Blizzard, showing no ill effects from the hypothermia she suffered while racing the Snowdon 7s earlier this month, was first woman in her age category in the Birkenhead 5 Miles Road Race.

She was 97th overall, eighth woman and first over 45s woman in 34mins 23secs.

Blizzard also contested the Helena Tipping 10K Road Race in Wrexham, finishing 205th overall and 27th woman with 41mins 36secs, while second-claim member Georgina Walker was 236th, 34th woman, in 42mins 55secs.

These times put Blizzard second and Walker third in the over 45 women’s age group.

Warrington AC runners featured in the third Sale Sizzler of the season at Wythenshawe Park, Manchester, with Colin Bishop leading them home in 131st place in 18mins 35secs to win the over 60s age group.

Mark Gregory, 209th in 20mins 39secs, finished seventh over 50s man.

Just one place behind was second-claim member Georgina Walker in 20mins 38secs for 43rd place woman and fifth over 45.

Anne Gregory completed the squad in 267th place in 22mins 18secs, placing her 61st woman and fifth over 50 woman.

Personal bests were achieved by Warrington AC runners in the Trafford AC medal meeting at Longford Stadium on Sunday.

In the under 11s 600m series, Tristan Tickle came fourth in his race with a PB 1min 54.52secs. Alex Farrell was seventh in 1 min 57.05secs.

Hugo Stanford smashed his 600m PB by 11 seconds with 2mins 05.89secs to finish seventh in his race.

In the 300m, under 17 Efa Rees was fifth in 49.07secs while in the field events under 13 Ruben Evans-Guillen placed fourth in the discus with 9.32m and third in the javelin with 21.59m.

Three Warrington AC master athletes took part in the Northern Masters Championships at Leigh Sports Village, collecting six gold and one silver medal between them.

On the track Dave Gill took home a treble gold collection, winning the over 65s age group 800m in 2mins 41.28secs, the 1500m in 5mins 27.74secs and the 3000m in 11mins 47.26secs.

Phil Hicken took the silver medal in the over 60s 3000m in 12mins 39.72secs.

In the field events, John Nicholls took gold in the over 55s shot putt with 13.88m while Neal Petley took double gold in the long jump (3.68m) and triple jump (8.38m).
