REBECCA Hardy got among the medals in the North of England Championships at Sportcity Manchester on Saturday.

The Warrington Athletics Club runner performed excellently to secure bronze in the senior women's 100m hurdles, clocking 15.20seconds.

In the senior men’s 5000m her clubmate Jordan Jones worked very hard in sweltering heat to place 10th in 15 mins 27.58secs.

Eight Warrington AC athletes represented Cheshire in the Northern Inter County Age Group Championships at York.

In the under 15s age group, Hilary Lam finished fifth in her 100m heat in 13.71secs while Tallie Sze was fifth in her 200m race but was a non-counter for the team.

Olivia Crawford won her 75m hurdles heat in 12.22secs, while in the 800m Sarah Ashcroft was seventh in 2mins 24.79secs.

In the under 17s age group, two personal best times were achieved with Imogen Wharton finishing second in her 3,000m race with 10mins 21.85secs to take 22 seconds off the time she set at the Cheshire Championships and put her 25th in the UK rankings.

Hannah Hull took seven seconds off her 1500m time as she finished second in her race with 4mins 51.61secs.

Esme Heavey won her 1,500m race with 4mins 37.91secs, while in the 100m second-claim Warrington member Evie Schofield finished fifth in 12.88 seconds.
