WARRINGTON Wolves have continued their recruitment for 2019 with the signing of second rower Matt Davis.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year deal with The Wire and will join from Championship side London Broncos at the end of this season.

“I wanted to test myself in a different set up and a different environment."

Davis was given his senior debut at the Broncos in 2016 by current Wolves assistant coach Andrew Henderson, who coached him until the end of 2017.

He has since gone on to make 58 appearances for London, one of which came in the 40-38 defeat to Wolves in last year’s Middle 8s when he started the game at loose forward.

Warrington head coach Steve Price called Davis “a grafter” and says Henderson was fulsome in his praise for his attitude.

“Matt’s a guy who plays the game tough,” he said.

“He is only young and has a lot of good football years ahead of him as he becomes more educated in the game.

“He’s a grafter and does all the little things well in the game of rugby league.

“He has really impressed me with his attitude and comes with a big rap from Andrew Henderson.”
