Crosfields A 44 Woolston Rovers A 20

IN a battle for local bragging rights as well as North West Men’s League Division Three points, it was Crosfields A who took the spoils against their Woolston counterparts.

Nathan Taylor’s hat-trick and a double for Tom Brown set Andrew Campbell’s side on their way to victory at Hood Lane, with Alex Charnock, Dan Reid and Jordan Thomason adding further scores.

For Rovers, Darren Norman, Kieran Jones, Liam Sullivan and Isaac Lythgoe were on the scoresheet as they fell to defeat.

“We did well today getting the win,” Crosfields A head coach Campbell said.

“We took the sting out of their big units and kept the play the ball quick.

“It was a good game and credit to Woolston for giving their all for 80 minutes.”

Woolston A boss Andy Penny admits the better side won on the day but praised the application of his side.

“The extra experience they had told, but the effort of our lads was exceptional,” he said.

“The boys gave everything out there, but Crosfields were the better side on the day and deserved the win.

“We had several new faces making their debut for the club and they never let us down.”
