RIXTON racer David McArthur enjoyed an eventful Saturday at Oulton Park at the BRSCC Mazda race day.
His first race in the Avon Tyres Post 89 championship was stopped twice because of accidents before he eventually finished second after a strong performance.
A wheel-to-wheel thriller of a second race ended in McArthur claiming the chequered flag by just 0.3secs from Rory Smith.
McArthur reflected fondly on his experience but also passed on his thoughts to fellow racer Andrew Kluge, who was airlifted to hospital with a suspected fractured hip after crashing out of the first race.
"Due to work commitments I am not taking part in the actual championship, but it is still great to race in races like the second one,” he said.
“The only thing that has spoiled the races has been the injury to Andrew.
“We all hope he is soon well again and taking part in the championship.”
