WARRINGTON Hockey Club enjoyed a productive weekend with none of their four senior teams losing.

The women’s teams were particularly impressive, with the firsts hammering Rhyl 7-0 on Saturday.

Meg Sutch had put them in front early, but it took Warrington a while to find their killer instinct.

However, once Jayne Buck had netted a hat-trick, the goals flowed as skipper Louise Unsworth, Katie Connolly and Sally Froggatt also hit the target.

The seconds staged a thrilling comeback, beating Triton’s seconds despite trailing 3-1 at the break.

Jenny Fox scored in a sub-par first period for Warrington, but Molly Rudd’s second-half hat-trick allowed them to complete a stunning fightback and win 4-3.

The men’s second team put in a great performance and recorded a 2-0 win over Runcorn.

Gavin Brown’s cross was calmly converted by Rich Hannibal for the opener before solid goalkeeping from Richard Bloomfield kept them ahead at the break, with Mark Hooper, Billy Gilbert and Rich Taylor impressing in defence.

After the break, Hooper sealed victory by converting a short corner.

The firsts were the only Warrington team not to win as they drew 1-1 with University of Liverpool’s seconds.

Adam Garrod’s cool finish put them ahead, but Liverpool equalised late on despite some resolute defending and outstanding goalkeeping from Roger Parr.
