STAG A claimed the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association’s Finlayson Cup on Saturday after a thrilling final.
In a match that went right down to the final pairing, Stag beat Rylands A by two chalks at Tetley to take home the trophy.
As the match ebbed and flowed, with both sides enjoying spells in the lead, it was left to Mike Jones to clinch the victory for Stag by beating Rylands’ Jimmy Bramhall 21-19.
Stag’s Keith Hamblett picked up the man of the match award for his 21-9 victory in the penultimate game that levelled the scores at 165-165.
