APPLETON Tigers cruised to an easy win at Leigh on Sunday.
Skipper Nathalie Long set the tone by taking two wickets in the first over and that proved the catalyst for an excellent display.
Long ended with four wickets, with Sami Fowler and Charlotte Cross taking two each to dismiss the hosts for 138.
After Cross fell early in Appleton’s reply, a superb partnership between Emma Barlow and Laura Jackson saw them home with no further alarm.
Jackson finished unbeaten on 67 and Barlow managed 62 to secure an comfortable, nine-wicket victory.
