WARRINGTON Town Reserves capped off a memorable week by securing promotion to the Cheshire League Premier Division.
After a 2-0 win against Cheadle Town’s reserves secured the JA Walton Challenge Cup on Thursday, goals from Rhys Bowers, John Edge and Brad Smart were enough to record a 3-1 win over Lostock Gralam on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the same division, goals from Christian Lawlor and Adam McLoughlin were not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat for Daten against Halebank, while Grappenhall Sports were beaten 2-1 at home by AFC Macclesfield, with James McCarthy on the scoresheet.
In the Premier Division, Greenalls PSO were beaten 3-0 at home by Poynton on Saturday.
Rylands and Eagle Sports both had games last night, Wednesday, as they travelled to Knutsford and Denton Town respectively.
League Two side Orford had goals from Liam Moran and Dan Hutchins to thank for a 2-1 win at Maine Road’s reserves, while Moore United lost 7-3 at Winstanley.
