WOLVES are set to have a surprise inclusion in their 19-man squad for Saturday’s game with Hull FC.
Despite picking up a hamstring injury that looked set to keep him out for up to five weeks, head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith revealed centre Ryan Atkins has trained for the past couple of days.
Smith says there is “a strong possibility” the 29-year-old will feature against the Black and Whites at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Smith said: “Ryan has surprised us all. He is functioning very, very well.”
Forward George King is also making good progress from his own hamstring injury and could feature against the Super League leaders on Saturday.
Wire boss Smith said winger Kevin Penny should be fit to play “in a few weeks” after an ankle injury.
