WARRINGTON Wolves are being linked with former Leeds Rhinos prop Ryan Bailey.

Speculation has grown throughout the day that the 31-year-old, who ended last season on Castleford Tigers' books, was due to take a medical with the club today.

Social media is now rife that the six-times Grand Final winner will be pulling on primrose and blue next season.

Bailey has himself Tweeted a cryptic message this evening that simply says: "Blessed".

Since his Super League debut with Leeds Rhinos in 2002, he is a player that has divided opinion among the sport's supporters through his aggressive and confrontational approach.

There is no denying the colourful character's record in a talented Leeds side, though, adding three World Club Challenge successes and a Challenge Cup triumph to those six Grand Final wins in more than 300 first-grade games before heading to Hull KR for 2015.

Bailey, whose early days as a professional came during current Wolves boss Tony Smith's reign at Headingley from 2004 to 2007, only figured once for the Robins before citing personal reasons for an exit that led to him playing six times for Castleford Tigers at the back end of last season.

The Super League club had an option to extend Bailey's contract for a further two years.

Strengthening the front-row options has been a focus for Wolves in their 2016 recruitment.

They have signed Brisbane Broncos' Grand Final runner-up Mitchell Dodds and former England Knights international Jordan Cox, but missed out on some other targets including Huddersfield's Tongan international Ukuma Ta'ai.

Since this time last year Wolves have said goodbye to five front-rowers - Paul Wood, Roy Asotasi, Anthony England as well as youngsters Glenn Riley and Tom Walker - and may feel that further strength in depth is needed as Wolves seek to get back on track for a silverware chase after three lean years.
