PAUL Cullen has told the Warrington Guardian that Chris Bridge will not be considered for selection until he can rid himself of the injuries that have plagued him during the first half of the season.

Bridge started the year as Wolves' first-choice stand off but has not featured in the last two matches - including Sunday's 48-16 Challenge Cup fifth round victory against Barrow - and is not in contention to play in the home match against Harlequins on Saturday, kick-off 7.30pm.

Ankle, groin and hamstring problems have already caused him to miss games this season and a frustrated Cullen has told the 22-year-old that he will not be picked again until he can prove that he is fully fit.

Cullen said: "If it's not his left ankle, it's his right ankle.

"If it's not his right ankle, it's his groin. If it's not his groin, it's his back.

"If it's not his back, it's his hamstring. If it's not his hamstring, he's ill.

"He's struggled to complete a decent training session, let alone a decent game.

"It's doing him no good and it's doing us no good, so we've got to take the pressure of a return out of the equation and that's what we're doing at the moment.

"Chris Bridge won't be delivered back to me by our medical staff until he presents a clean bill of health.

"Until then he won't be considered for selection.

"That's a long ongoing process that we've just got to be patient with."

Bridge's continued absence means that the in-form Vinnie Anderson is set to get an extended run at stand off.

Paul Wood should be available for selection against Quins after a long lay-off with a knee injury, while Andy Bracek (shoulder) is also fit again.

But Michael Sullivan is not expected to return for around a month after undergoing a clean-out operation on Monday on an ankle injury that has persisted.

Wolves will have to do it the hard way if they are to reach the Challenge Cup Final after being drawn away to holders and world club champions St Helens in the quarter finals.

The match against Wolves' bogy team will take place at Knowsley Road on Saturday, June 9, at 12.15pm, with the BBC showing the game live.
