WILLIAM Beamont Sports College's year eight rugby league team were beaten by three tries to two in the final of the North West Emerging Schools Cup.
Beamont were edged out by Weaverham High School in a thrilling final after topping their qualifying group thanks to a 7-2 victory against Rochdale's Matthew Moss High School and a 6-3 win against Runcorn's Heath High School.
