WARRINGTON Wolves have extended the contracts of three players.

Ashton Sims, Joe Philbin and Gary Wheeler have all added an extra year to their deals.

Wolves had the option to extend former Culcheth Eagles and Latchford Albion junior Philbin’s contract for another year, and the 20-year-old back rower has agreed to remain at The Halliwell Jones Stadium until the end of the 2016 season.

Warrington have also exercised the option to extended Wheeler’s playing contract for another season.

The 26-year-old utility back signed from St Helens on a one-year deal ahead of the 2015 Super League campaign.

Former St George Illawarra Dragons, Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys forward Sims arrived at Warrington alongside 2015 signings Wheeler and Daryl Clark.

The 30-year-old Fiji captain has extended his Wolves contract until the end of the 2017 season.

“He’s an inspirational leader and has proved to be an integral part of the team both on and off the field," said head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith.

"Ashton has shown a real passion for Warrington and it’s great that he’s focused on this team and our success right though to 2017."
