WOLVES fans can leave their messages of support here for young Wolves prop Mike Cooper, who is now out of hospital and recovering at home.

The 18-year-old up-and-coming star ended up in the intensive care unit at Warrington Hospital on Sunday, May 6 after complications occurred during an operation.

Cooper broke his leg while playing for Wolves' under 18s against Salford City Reds at Wilderspool on Saturday, May 5 and suffered a blood clot while having his leg repaired.

Those complications resulted in pneumonia and he has remained in intensive care since then.

A club statement today reads: "Warrington Wolves are delighted to announce that Mike has been released from Warrington Hospital and is currently recuperating at home.

"Mike would like to thank everyone for their cards and e-mails of support during this difficult time."

After the initial incident, Wolves head coach Paul Cullen said: "He went down in an innocuous tackle during the game and broke both bones of the lower leg in between the knee and ankle.

"He was stabilised over Saturday night and had an operation on Sunday morning to repair the broken bones.

"While having them fixed and pinned he had a clot, which took him from the operating table into intensive care.

"We're very concerned about him but we know he's in very good hands.

"We're hopeful he will come back bigger, fitter and stronger."
