EAGLE Sports still have their sights on a glorious ‘quadruple’ after winning the Liverpool County FA Saturday Challenge Cup last night.

Rob Hope’s side lifted their second piece of silverware this season with a 3-0 success against Byrom at Liverpool FA Sports Complex.

Over the next nine days – ending a crazy run of 11 games in 26 days - Eagle could be opening their trophy cabinet twice more.

The Thornton Road side meet Rylands in the final of the Warrington and District League’s Guardian Cup at Warrington Town’s Cantilever Park ground on Monday, kick off 11am.

But first the Premier Division runners up for the past two campaigns will be looking to maintain momentum in the bid to win their first Cheshire League title, visiting Rudheath Social tonight, Thursday, and then hosting Sandbach United on Saturday.

Next Thursday Eagle also visit reigning champions Garswood United, who they beat in the Memorial Cup at the season’s start on August 2, before squaring up with Linotype Cheadle on May 9 in what could be the title decider.

Prior to last night's league games, Linotype, with 59pts from 27 games, sit level on points with one game in hand of leaders Knutsford, while Eagle hold third with 56 points from 26 games.

Keeping feet on the ground will be among Hope's tasks after Tuesday's cup final celebrations.

Goals from Richard Chinn, Ged McAllister and Lee Boardman completed the job against a Liverpool Premier Division side that finished as the competition’s top scorers with 22 goals in the previous five rounds.

The cup success followed hot on the heels of Saturday's 2-0 home league win against fourth-placed Crewe FC, Boardman coolly curling the ball over the goalkeeper for the first and slotting a penalty for the second after handball in the danger zone.
