WARRINGTON Men’s Football First Team remain without a win this season after suffering a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Edge Hill.

Tom Keegan, Denzel Edwards and Calum McClurkin netted for the visitors, but it was not enough to prevent consecutive losses.

Elsewhere, the Second Team were thrashed 6-2 by Salford.

Miles Thompson’s second goal in as many games opened the scoring, but a flurry of second half goals from the visitors meant Rob Herbet’s late strike was only a consolation.

The Women’s side opened their season with a credible 1-1 draw against MMU Cheshire.

WARRINGTON sports car racer Martin Richardson beat Lymm racer Andrew Bentley to win the Guards Trophy Championship on Saturday.

Richardson competed in the HSCC Guards Trophy all season alongside Bentley and led the class by five points heading into the final round.

Both Warrington racers had a chance to take the championship title with Richardson just needing to finish one place behind Bentley to win overall.

The pair pulled away from the rest of the class at the start of the race before Richardson made the easy decision to let Bentley win and hold onto second place and take the championship.
