INJURY UPDATE: Back row concerns for Warrington Wolves
WARRINGTON Wolves may have paid a heavy price for tonight's gutsy win against Leeds Rhinos.
And this is with their Challenge Cup quarter final tie with Bradford Bulls looming next weekend.
Both second rowers against Leeds, James Laithwaite and Ben Currie, picked up injuries, while Ben Westwood has two matches of his suspension remaining and Trent Waterhouse is out for three months with medial knee ligament damage.
Laithwaite broke a toe tonight and could be out for a few weeks, while Currie suffered concussion from an early high impact collision with Kylie Leuluai.
Joel Monaghan did not finish the game either with a facial injury which occurred from a clash with Carl Ablett's lower leg while in the act of scoring Wolves' last try.
Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith may curse his luck after today letting the paperwork go through on back rower Danny Bridge having a one-month loan spell with Featherstone Rovers.
One positive is that Smith should have Simon Grix available next week and he has hinted at a promotion for an Academy player, although Glenn Riley is awaiting a return to the first team and Stefan Ratchford showed versatility tonight by moving into the back row to cover for the depleted numbers of pack men.
