CROSSBAR completed the Warrington Sunday Football League treble with a narrow win over Rainhill in the Denis Scholes Challenge Cup Final.

The Warrington side added the Challenge Cup to the Premier Division title and the Premier Cup they won.

Ollie Hardman gave Crossbar the lead after 20 minutes when his first effort was parried by the Rainhill keeper back into the Crossbar striker’s path, to finish with the second attempt.

The second half grew into a nervy affair as the score stayed at 1-0 and Rainhill began to throw all men forward heading into the last 10 minutes with a strong shout for a hand-ball inside the area turned down.

Rainhill were reduced to 10 men when a player was sent off for violent conduct.

Crossbar held on with the extra man and secured their third trophy this season.
