Wigton 16 Rylands Sharks 36.
RYLANDS were caught cold after a three-hour coach journey to Wigton for Saturday's GMB BARLA National Cup first-round tie but fought back after going 16-6 down in the first 20 minutes.
Jonathan Smith scored a crucial try just before half time and Chris Forster converted to make it 16-12 at half time.
The second half saw Rylands take complete control as Wigton tired.
Carl Lloyd scored two tries courtesy of some slick passing from centre Neil Evans and Mark Forster grabbed a brace as sons Chris and Danny created openings for him. Peter Leonard and Chris Forster also landed drop goals.
