DEFENCE won the day for Eagles, with Rylands having to work hard to break the line. Culcheth’s player of the match was Joshua Gibbs, best in defence was Rhys Brindley and most improved was Jed Salveson-Cheadle.

TRY scorers for Rylands were players’ player of the match Clayton Crutchley, three and Harry Sinclair, two. Top tackler was Bobby Burrill, coach’s player was Ben Gwilliam, player of the match was Charlie Fairbrother.

AN impressive team display saw the Tiger Sharks’ resolute defence rewarded with a victory. Tries came from player-of-the-match Charlie Yeomans, top tackler Thomas Ashurst, two, Max Myers-Davies and Ciaran Card.

OUTSTANDING defence helped Culcheth to dominate field position and score plenty of skilful tries courtesy of Frank Sergent, Jemima Dahou, Mathew Smith, and Rhys Lawrence against a good Woolston team.

RYLANDS’ tries came from Leon Hayes, two, Dylan Alcock and player-of-the-match Liam Argent. Most improved player was Bobby Finn and top tackler was Kingsley Currie.

EAGLES found some attacking form in the second half, with Zack Dahou and Jack Darbyshire among the scorers in an improved team perofrmance.

RYLANDS showed great spirit to gain their first point of the campaign. Tries came from parents’ player Tom Forber, Tom Smith, Joshua Morris and Cameron Snow, who also shared player of the match with Reece Musgrave.

Culcheth Eagles u12 0 Wigan St Cuthberts u12 24

THIS cup game was a step up in standard for Eagles against a higher placeed Wigan outfit. Player of the match was George Ruffley, most improved was Adam McHardy, the coach’s award went to Harry Young.

RYLANDS continued their winning ways in impressive fashion, with tries by Owen Rankin, Jack Collins, Brad Taylor, Kieran Owens, Liam Jones, four, and Fynn Stanley, who added five conversions. Declan Leonard also landed a goal.

Latchford Albion u14 30 Wigan Spring View u14 22

LATCHFORD progressed to the semi finals of the North West Counties Development Cup with a hard-fought win against a strong Wigan side. Player of the match was Lewis Pritchard and the coach’s award went to Freddie Harrison.
