A GOOD team display from Woolston after losing two players early on. Tries from player-of-the-match Callum Moore, two, Sam Vernon, two, Elliot Knowles and Josh Bray.

Crosfields u14 6 Rylands Sharks u14 58

RYLANDS overpowered their neighbours with Liam Jones scoring six tries. Others came from Kieran Owens, Fynn Stanley, James Lawton, Sean Millington and Declan Leonard, who added six goals. Stanley landed one conversion.

Woolston Rovers Greens u12 30 Westhoughton Lions 4

A MUCH-IMPROVED attack and set completion from Rovers. Tries from Theo Dutton, two, Connor Wrench, Alfie Geritas, Tyler Roberts and Dan Slack. Player-of-the-match was Nathan Harrison.

Culcheth Eagles u12 4 Woolston Rovers u12 18

EAGLES lost out to a well-organised Woolston outfit. Culceth’s try came from Adam Livesey. Woolston tries came from Ben Roberts, George Hickey, Morgan Bolton and Charlie Saunders.

LATCHFORD came from 0-8 down to beat Clock Face in the preliminary round of the under 12s Lancashire Cup and set up a ‘derby’ in the semi finals with Crosfields. Tries courtesy of Liam Blackburn, Lloyd Wright and Will McDonnell.

A TOP match between equal teams. Player-of-the-match was Tom Ditchfield, parents’ award winner was Harvey Orr, coach’s award went to Lewis Rathbone and the achievement award went to Alfie Noon.

Halton FH u11 22 Rylands u11 18

A SLOW start cost Rylands a narrow defeat. Tries from Will Amor, Joshua Morris and player-of-the-match Isaac Williams, while the parents’ player was Oliver Bate, with Reece Farmer taking the away coach’s award.

Golborne Parkside u11 48 Woolston Rovers u11 18

WEAK defence proved Woolston’s downfall but in attack they moved the ball well. Tries came from Mitchell Clynes, George Guilfoyle and Dylan Corroboy.

Rylands Sharks u10 34 Waterhead u10 4

RYLANDS’ try scorers were player-of-the-match Mason Gamble, Nathon Groarke, Dylan Alcock, Leon Hayes, Bayley Colledge and Danny Woods. Most improved player was Dylan Rowe and top tackler was Robert McGlynn.

WOOLSTON played well with six players volunteering to play half a game for the opposition. Player of steel was Ryan Lawrence and the top tackler was Jack Wareing.

EAGLES were well led on the field by D Ramsden. Try scorers were M Haigh, three, D Ramsden, two, E Simpkin, two and O Flint.

A FANTASTIC performance in muddy conditions.Tries from Dan Rowlands, two and Joseph Reynolds. Player of the match WAS Joseph Reynolds, top tackler Max Kelly, coach’s award winner Dan Rowlands.

Culcheth Eagles u8 28 Orrell St James u8 20

EAGLES started the game fast with four great tries in the first half. Try scorers were Thomas Burrows, three, Frank Sergent, Mathew Smith, two and Jemima Dahou.

Folly Lane u8 32 Rylands Tiger Sharks u8 24

FOLLY Lane came out on top in a tightly contested game. Thomas Ashurst claimed four tries, with top tackler Max Myers-Davies and Ciaran Card adding one each.

Orrell St James u8 20 Rylands Sharks u8 20

OUTSTANDING performance by Rylands against a well-drilled Orrell team. Tries were scored by Harry Sinclair, two, Connor Barton, two and Clayton Crutchley.

Woolston Rovers u8 24 Haydock Warriors u8 16

GREAT team effort with excellent defence especially from Loui Ashton. Tries from Joe Hickey, Noah Quigley, George Roberts and Aron Lindop.

Crosfields u7 20 Woolston Rovers u7 12

A FANTASTIC defensive effort, very well organised in attack and a great game from the whole team. Tries from Jack McCarthy, Luke Platt and Ben Harrison.
