Warrington 2nd 41
Liverpool St Helens 2nd 7
WARRINGTON’S second team proved too strong for the visitors in all phases, though the game was not settled until the final quarter.
Liverpool struck first with their only try of the game, but their lead was short-lived as Tony Fretwell broke seven tackles to score the equaliser, Almond converting.
Warrington never looked back, adding tries through Charlie McIlroy, Paul Thompson to open a convincing half time lead, before further efforts from Luke Wood, Almond, Rob Edwards and a try-of-the-match from Charlie McIlroy completed a fine victory.
